Since its inception in 1952, The Arc of Mower County has received generous support each year from individuals living in Mower County and vicinity. Some of our programs are entirely dependent on the support of individuals who believe in the work we are doing. There are many ways for an individual to support The Arc of Mower County. Most gifts are fully tax-deductible under IRS Code 501 (c) (3).

The Arc of Mower County helps people and families every day…

...and your contribution means a great deal. It means that people who need help to live on their own will get the support they want to be safe, healthy and contributing members of our community.  It means that people who want to work and earn money will find their niche. It means that people will have choices for social, leisure, and entertainment activities in the community, and that caregivers will be able to choose the kinds of in-home assistance they need—and when they need it. It means that families will find support, education and inspiration.

It means our community will be stronger.

The Arc of Mower County relies on the generosity of people like you to sustain and expand the ways it helps people with Intellectual Disabilities and their families. Please make success possible by donating today!

Become a Member

The Arc of Mower County is a membership organization. Any person may become a member simply by completing a membership application and paying a basic membership fee.

Make a Family Pledge

Friends, parents, siblings and other relatives of individuals who are served by The Arc of Mower County are asked to consider an annual pledge to the The Arc of Mower County. This pledge can be made as a one-time gift or can be billed monthly or quarterly.

Support the Year-End Appeal

During the holiday season, a special effort is made to make certain that the resources are there to not only guarantee our programs and services, but also to assure that the people we serve have an enjoyable and fulfilling holiday season. Many recipients of our services have no immediate family to spend the holidays with and The Arc of Mower County, its staff and many volunteers, fill this role.

Donate a Vehicle

We can turn your used vehicle into cash that will be used to support the programs and services of The Arc of Mower County.

Planned Giving

Many people believe that they lack sufficient assets to fund a trust or to include a charitable gift in their will. They assume that the joy of philanthropy and the tax advantages of a planned gift are privileges of the wealthy, not people like themselves.

Not true. Today, many people of all ages and backgrounds are making a difference in the lives of people they love, in their community and in their own lives.

  • A retired accountant donates a life insurance policy to the The Arc of Mower County to ensure the long-term security of programs that are under-funded. He reduces his taxes.

  • Two school teachers include a bequest in their will to The Arc of Mower County's Our Place Recreation Center. Their gift reduces the estate taxes their own children will pay.

  • Parents of a child with Intellectual Disabilities use appreciated stock to fund a Supplemental Needs Trust. Their gift enhances their child's quality of life and avoids capital gains tax.

The ability of The Arc of Mower County to reach out to the greatest number of people who have Intellectual Disabilities has been greatly enhanced by bequests from family members and friends over the years. The Arc of Mower County's ability to provide quality, leading edge programs now and in the future will continue to be directly influenced by those who plan their estates to include lifelong gifts and bequests to the The Arc of Mower County. We salute those individuals who have had the vision and forethought to consider us in their future plans.

Honor or Memorial Gifts

An honor/memorial donation to the The Arc of Mower County is a meaningful way for friends and family to honor someone special, recognize a significant achievement, celebrate a special day or make a gift in honor of someone who is deceased.  We will let the family know that you have made a gift in honor or memory of their loved one.
