The Arc of the United States was featured front and center for the 19 million readers of TIME Magazine in their September 12th issue. The work of The Arc and its 700+ chapters was highlighted through stories of the people served by The Arc. The story focused on our national affiliate, which is now celebrating its 60th year of advocacy for our community. For almost 60 years, our local chapter – The Arc of Mower County has also been committed to creating opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Not only are we proud of our own vibrant history, we are also thrilled to be part of such a strong and far-reaching national network. |
